What is COOL?
COOL (Credentialing Opportunities On-Line) helps U.S. Service members find information on certifications and licenses related to their jobs and civilian careers. Use COOL to get background information on credentialing and find detailed information on:
- Credentials related to a Occupational Specialties
- Credentials related to Civilian Occupational Pathways
- Credential requirements and potential gaps between any military training and civilian credentialing requirements
- Resources available to fill gaps between any military training and civilian credentialing requirement
How does CertNexus Tie in?
CertNexus credentials are mapped to U.S. military occupational specialties and are approved for government funding for all COOL (Credential Opportunities On-Line) programs. Each COOL program operates independently with different requirements and disbursement amounts.
Translate your military training and experience with a professional certificate through the CertNexus program: CyberSec First Responder (CFR).
Government funded
Click on the icon that represents your branch’s COOL program to visit their webpage. There you can identify which certifications are available for funding in your branch, determine if learning materials are covered, and find instructions confirming your eligibility for funding. You can search for certifications by CFR, military job code or civilian career area.
Test On-Base
After receiving approval from COOL, schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE authorized on-base test center by visiting PearsonVUE Online, then selecting CertNexus.
